“Talk time” is our special time together. “Talk time” happens every night at bedtime. Between saying our prayers and kissing goodnight. It’s when Daisy Grace and I talk in a loving and safe place, the comfort of her bed. We take 5 minutes or less to talk about school, a book she read, something she may have heard on the news or anything she wants. We invite you into one of our most intimate “Talk time” moments.

The reason I wrote this book with Daisy Grace, was to teach her not to bully, judge or discriminate against another person based on the color of their skin. I wanted her to know even though people come in different shades of color; we have more in common than we have different. One such example is our feet. I was inspired by our “Talk time” conversation to write a poem to her about how the bottom of our feet connects us all. My dream is that parents can use this book as a tool to begin a “Talk time” conversation with their children. The discovery that God did not forget to color our feet has allowed Daisy Grace and I to see the world and humankind in a more loving and connected way. We pray it does the same for you and your family. Thank you for joining us on our discovery.
